Greetings Florence-Lauderdale Public Library Patrons:
The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library will be moving into the next phase of our reopening plan beginning Monday, June 29, 2020. This phase will include opening the library building to the public, with hours of Monday through Friday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.
All patrons entering the building will be asked to wear masks and to maintain social distancing, and there will be hand sanitizer available throughout the building. Patrons will notice other safety precautions, such as plexiglass shields at the public desks and increased distance between the public computers. Public computer usage will be limited to one hour per person per day. The computers are fitted with plastic keyboard sleeves to allow for sanitation between sessions of use.
We will continue to offer Curbside Pickup of books, audiobooks, and movies. The new hours for Curbside Pickup will be Monday through Friday, 12:00-2:00 pm. To request Curbside Pickup, fill out the form on the library website, www.flpl.org. All returned library materials will continue to be quarantined for at least 3 business days before being checked in, so you can expect for items you return to remain on your account for several days. You will not accrue any fines due to this process. If you still have items that you checked out before the library building closed, we ask that you return them no later than July 6.
During this phase of opening, meetings and in-person public programs will remain on hold. The library will continue offering online programs and take-home activities for all ages. The library also has multiple online services, such as ebook checkout, that you can access by visiting www.flpl.org/athome.
If you have any questions about this phase of reopening, contact the library’s Executive Director Derek Wilson at email@example.com or 256-764-6564, ext. 133.
